The number one goal of any physiotherapy protocol is to reduce pain. This is the cornerstone of maintaining animal welfare, which is why we do our job as Veterinary Physiotherapists. We are passionate about ensuring your pets have the best quality of life that they deserve.
At Restore Veterinary Physiotherapy we believe in treating your dogs holistically. This means looking at all different aspects of their lives to treat the cause of any difficulties they may face, rather than just managing symptoms.
Physiotherapy interventions are guided by current scientific research, clinical expertise, and the individual needs of the animal. This ensures treatments are safe, effective, and justifiable. Our other goals of treatment include rehabilitation of injuries, optimising performance and maintaining quality of life, through the use of manual therapies, remedial exercises and electrotherapies.
When we meet for the first time, we will spend a good amount of time going through all aspects of your pet's daily life. This gives us a great base of information to work with, and it also means your dog can get to know us before the physical assessment begins.
We will then move on to evaluating your pet in a number of different ways. This will include looking at their posture, movement, muscle balance and joint mobility. Once the assessment is complete, we will perform any appropriate treatments, whilst talking through anything that you can do at home to be a part of your pets physiotherapy journey.
The final step is a comprehensive report which we will send to both you and your Vets at regular intervals, so you can keep track of their progress together. For information on prices see the below link.

Massage therapy can be used to help ease muscles which are tight and painful through overuse or strain from compensatory movement patterns.

Stretching is another manual therapy which often comes hand-in-hand with massage as part of your session. Stretching is a great tool for helping to ease tight and sore muscles; it also can form part of your at-home maintenance before and after exercise to keep your dog comfortable between sessions!

This is your time to shine! You will receive a personalised home exercise program which is designed to build muscle and support joint mobility which will be a crucial part of your pet's progress with us - your sessions with us form a small part of their week but the big progress is made at home.

Heat therapy is used as part of most sessions to aid in the treatment process. We can use it to provide localised pain relief, help to warm muscles up ready for massage, and like other modalities help to ease muscle tension. This is also something we can teach you to use at home.
